By using this site you're agreeing to what's below. It's short, and the important part is the third section.
Using the site
You can read anything here and take the audit as often as you like. In exchange, don't do the obvious things: don't try to break it, don't scrape it, don't hammer the forms with automated submissions, don't submit someone else's email address, and don't use it to send anyone anything they didn't ask for.
The site is for adults. Please don't use it if you're under 16.
If you do any of the above we can block you, and we don't have to explain first.
What the audit is, and what it is not
This is the part worth reading properly.
The Default Script Audit is a structured self-reflection exercise. You describe six parts of your life, you say where each one came from, and a formula counts how many you marked as your own. The result is arithmetic performed on your own description of yourself. Nothing more than that is happening.
It is not a psychometric assessment. It has not been validated, normed, peer-reviewed, or tested for reliability against anything. It does not measure a trait, and it is not a personality test, however much the format might resemble one.
It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot detect, rule out, or say anything at all about a medical or psychological condition.
Nothing on this site — the audit, the result, the emails, the essays, the newsletter — is psychological, psychiatric, medical, therapeutic, financial, investment, tax, legal or career advice. Using it does not make us your therapist, doctor, adviser, coach, lawyer or counsellor, and no professional or fiduciary relationship is created between us by anything here.
The site is deliberately written to make you reconsider large things: your job, where you live, what you're aiming at, the people you're arranging your life around. That is the point of it. It is also the reason for the paragraph you're reading. Those decisions are yours, made on your own judgement and at your own risk. We don't know your circumstances, your finances, your health, your obligations or your relationships. A result that says a part of your life was inherited rather than chosen is an observation about six sentences you typed — it is not a recommendation to quit, leave, move, or end anything.
If something here stirs up more than you expected, that's not unusual and it isn't a malfunction. But please talk to a qualified professional rather than to a web page. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line now — findahelpline.com lists them by country.
No promises about outcomes
We don't guarantee any result, insight, improvement or change from using this site. We make no claim about a success rate, and we hold no professional licence, certification or credential in psychology, medicine, therapy, financial advice or law. Where the site describes what it's for, that's a description of intent, not a promise of outcome.
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we don't warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose of yours. To the extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties that would otherwise apply.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from your use of this site — including lost income, lost opportunity, or the consequences of a decision you made after using it. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us — for the free parts of the site, that is nothing; for anything you bought, see "If you buy something" below.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you're a consumer, this does not affect your statutory rights.
If you buy something
Pending review — this section is a draft and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
What you're buying. The Redesign is a set of guided, written exercises delivered on this site at a private link, built from the answers you gave in the audit, and ending in a one-page document assembled from your own words. It is digital content. Nothing is shipped, and nothing is downloaded except what you choose to print or save. Access is personal to you and to the email address you bought with, and the link isn't for sharing.
The price is the one shown on the page when you buy, in US dollars, and it is charged once. Any tax we're required to collect is shown before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or hold your card details.
Refunds. Fourteen days from payment, in full, no reason required — the refunds page is the policy and this sentence is a summary of it. Because access begins immediately after payment, we ask you at checkout to agree to that immediate delivery; where you're a consumer in the UK or the EU, that's the point at which the statutory cancellation right can be affected, and our own 14-day refund applies regardless.
It is not advice. Everything in the section above — "What the audit is, and what it is not" — applies to The Redesign in full. It asks you questions and writes your answers back to you. It does not know your circumstances and it does not tell you what to do. It is not psychological, medical, therapeutic, financial, legal or career advice, and paying for it doesn't change that or create any professional relationship between us. The decisions it helps you write down are yours, made on your own judgement and at your own risk.
No promises about outcomes. We don't guarantee that using it will change anything, and we make no claim that it will. Where we describe what it's for, that's a description of intent, not a promise of result. It is provided as it is; we try to keep it working and available, but we don't warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from something you bought here, including lost income, lost opportunity, or the consequences of a decision you made after using it. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the thing in question. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded; if you're a consumer, your statutory rights aren't affected.
Your writing is still yours. Everything you type into The Redesign belongs to you, exactly as your audit answers do. We use it only to build your pages and your Personal Policy, to email them to you, and to send them back to you six months later. It's never published, quoted, sold, or used to sell anything.
Ending access. Access ends if you're refunded, or if you ask us to delete your data. We can also end access for the reasons in "Using the site" above; if we end it for any other reason, we'll refund you.
Who owns what
Your writing stays yours. The six descriptions and the three longer answers you type into the audit belong to you. You give us permission to use them only to produce your result, to email it to you, and to send it back to you six months later. That permission goes no further. We do not publish, quote, sell, license or use your writing as marketing material — see the privacy policy, where the same promise is made in more detail.
Your result is yours to keep. Save it, print it, forward it, post it, do nothing with it.
The site is ours. The text, the questions, the scoring, the design and the code are owned by personalpolicy.com. You may read them and share links to them. You may not copy the audit, rebuild it, or republish substantial parts of the writing without asking. Ask — the answer is often yes.
Ending it
You can stop using the site at any time, unsubscribe from any email in one click, and ask us to delete your data whenever you like.
We can suspend or withdraw the site, or any part of it, at any time. If we do that, we'll still honour deletion requests.
When these change
We'll update the date at the top and post the new version here. If a change materially affects you, we'll say so by email to anyone we have an address for.
